Why it exists

The alternative isn’t a better ranking. It’s not having one: ask what somebody needs, apply published rules, show the reasoning and name the drawback. If nothing fits, say so.

Who writes it

A small team, working to the rules and evidence standards published here. We don’t put fictional author photographs on pages, and where something is a judgement rather than a fact, the page says which of the two it is.
